Radiate or Absorb

If you are wondering how to tell whether someone who enters your life is a friend, a “messenger” that destiny has placed on your path, or rather an “emotional vampire,” I believe it is important to learn the difference between those who radiate and those who absorb.
As the saying goes: there are a thousand ways to be unhappy, but only one way to be happy.
A person who radiates is usually someone who is healthy, joyful, grateful, and at peace with themselves. This does not mean they are always happy or that they never face difficulties. Rather, they tend to bring a sense of calm, presence, and positive energy. They are someone whose inner compass points north and who knows, even with doubts, the direction they want to take.
Harmful personalities, on the other hand, come in many different forms. Yet they often share something in common: after spending time with them, you feel more tired, more insecure, more confused, or less capable of facing your own challenges.
These are people who are dissatisfied with their own lives and who, often without realizing it, seek to absorb the energy, attention, or stability of those around them. Like the “Dementors” in Harry Potter, who feed on positive emotions and the good memories of others.
And if you ever feel that you are facing one of them, remember that with an “Expecto Patronum” (that happy memory connected to someone you deeply love), you can reclaim your strength. For that, they say, you need a pure heart and genuine self-respect.
The goal is to live with an attitude of radiating into the world. Radiate. Be a light for those around you. Surrender to the experience of the present moment, live in harmony, and from that inner place, no Dementor will have so much power over you.
But pay attention to something important: if you are not radiating, you are absorbing.
